<b>Tech News</b>
France’s highest court has ruled that drivers can no longer simply pull over to use their phones. Instead, they will have to park in a designated area, such as a garage or a private driveway, and turn off the vehicle’s engine, according to <a href="https://gizmodo.com/france-takes-texting-while-driving-ban-to-new-extreme-1822759385"><i>Gizmodo</i></a><i>.</i>
The ruling came after a 2017 appeal where a driver protested a fine he received for using a phone while he was parked at a roundabout with hazard lights on. Under the new law, those who text in non-approved areas while in a vehicle will receive a fine of 135 euros ($166) and will receive three points on their driving license that will stay for three years. This is the same punishment currently given to those who use their phone while driving. The law does not apply to hands-free devices (but does restrict wireless headsets), and it makes exceptions for emergency calls, like being stranded on the side of the road.

<b>App of the Week: Jump Numbers by Artgig Studios</b>
Jump Numbers is an engaging math app. This app grows with your child and will be challenging from preschool to elementary school. The app starts with counting by ones and twos and then continues to get more challenging, counting by higher numbers. It teaches the concepts of calculation, number sense and multiplication and division.
<b>Tech Tip</b>
Here is another tip about using your Amazon Echo.
If you want to use the kid skills with Alexa and the Echo, go to <a href="http://amazon.com">amazon.com</a> and enable each app you want to use.
A great example is <b>Sesame Street</b>.
Hello, it’s Elmo! When children ask to “Open Sesame Street,” they’ll be able to speak directly to their furry red friend.
Elmo's so excited! He can’t wait to share all the fun things he knows about the letter of the day. And Elmo's always up for a good game of Hide & Seek, with silly sounds as clues to where he’s hiding.
Sesame Street encourages kids to engage in imaginative play, learn new words, and just be giggly together with the voice of a familiar, fun-loving friend.
We hope your preschoolers have fun playing and learning with Elmo. We’re learning all the time, too, and really welcome the input of families like yours.

“Alexa, ask Sesame Street to call Elmo”
“Alexa, ask Sesame Street to play Hide & Seek”
"Alexa, ask Sesame Street to find Elmo"
Alexa can also keep a shopping list for her. Just say “Alexa, add milk to the shopping list” The list can be found in your Amazon Alexa app on your phone.
